NEW YORK (Callaway Climate Insights) — The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule next month on the landmark case against Bayer’s weedkiller Roundup, which could either double the amount of lawsuits it faces or lead to the dismissal of tens of thousands of lawsuits claiming it causes cancer.
But in the meantime, German-based Bayer and rival Chinese-owned Syngenta have found a more lucrative region of the world to market glyphosate which doesn’t face as many judicial or government obstacles — Latin America.
