New study shows ESG investing impact has grown over time, even if the moniker hasn’t

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Callaway Climate Insights) — New research resolves the contradictory conclusions of prior studies into whether ESG investing has any real-world impact.
Many of those studies have concluded that ESG investing has negligible impact, as I’ve written before. Yet other studies have reached the opposite conclusion. Both can’t be right.
Or can they? The new research traces prior studies’ contradictory conclusions to the time periods that were analyzed. Up until a couple of decades ago, the researchers found, ESG investing had negligible impact. But its impact has grown significantly since then.
