NEW YORK (Callaway Climate Insights — The true folly of the political decision earlier this year to suspend a traffic congestion plan for New York City will be on full display this week as 130 global leaders converge on the United Nations for their annual General Assembly.
The global leaders will also be focused on New York Climate Week, with more than 100 events running throughout the city. New Yorkers know to stay away this week every September but this year is expected to be worse than most as the city’s 100-year-old subway system struggles against a summer of breakdowns and unprecedented security forces patrol the airways and seaports.
