Climate Week was always New York’s event to lose and indeed it has over the past few years as White House hostility to some forms of renewable energy and climate mitigation efforts have led to London taking the lead as a fighter of global warming.

This year, though, the focus in London will be less on the intense heatwave outside and more on the political intrigue surrounding Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s resignation this morning, and what it means for the Labour government’s commitment to fighting climate change.
