France woke up to parliamentary chaos on Monday after the shock comeback of the political left in the second round of voting over the weekend. The New Popular Front, a ragtag alliance of several leftist parties, finished first in the voting, followed by French President Emmanuel Macron’s Ensemble (Together) party and in third, the rightwing National Rally Party that had been expected to win.
